• Adobe PDF File (273 KB) - The PDB accession keys are 1IJF for EF1a and 1FNM for EFTU. These were superimposed using covALIGN (Blouin et al. unpublished) using primarily the CE algorithm (shindyalov and Bourne, 1998, Prot. Eng. 11:739-747). The two structures are mapped onto each other in these two panels. Segments of polypeptides that are exclusive to one of these proteins are shown in red. Some of the structural differences between these orthologous proteins are labeled to stress the presence of beta-hairpin inserts.
