EDITORIAL

Thank You, Steve Bryant, and Welcome, Carol Post!

After three-and-one-half years of service to Protein Science, Steve Bryant has resigned due to pressing time commitments in his position at NCBI. Steve’s high standing in the field of computational biochemistry has made him a very valuable colleague on the editorial staff, and it is with real regrets that we bid him goodbye.

The Council has unanimously agreed to the recommendation from the other Associate Editors and me to appoint Carol B. Post, Professor of Medicinal Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology, Purdue University, to replace Steve as Associate Editor. Carol is a distinguished protein scientist with special expertise in computational approaches, NMR, molecular dynamics, biophysical analyses. She has served for the last two years on our Editorial Advisory Board. I am especially happy to have access to her advice and assistance within a two-minute walk from my office, and her presence on this campus will allow us to cover for each other when one person is away from campus. Carol’s appointment is effective January 1, 2005. Welcome, Carol!!
