About the Cover

Cover Figure

Cover Illustration: Superimposition of the structurally conserved regions (SCRs) found in 23 fold-type I, pyridoxal-5′-phosphate (PLP) dependent enzymes. Although the members of this superfamily are very distantly related, they contain a structural pattern of conserved hydrophobic contacts, whose potential importance in stabilizing the native fold is supported by a preferential conservation throughout the homologous sequences. Seventeen SCRs were detected and the corresponding coordinates colored according to the RMSD value. (See Paiardini et al., pp. 2992–3005).
