Cover Illustration: Crystal structure of the mature capsid of Nudaurelia capensis &omega virus—a T = 4, nonenveloped animal virus. The view is down a fivefold axis of symmetry from the inside of the virion. White spheres indicate the location of asparagine 570 in each subunit, which is the point of autoproteolysis in the mature capsid. Point mutations to residues near asparagine 570 affect autoproteolysis, as well as proper assembly of the viral capsid. (See Taylor and Johnson, pp. 401–408.)
