Cover Illustration: Acetohydroxyacid synthase isozyme III (AHAS) is an essential enzyme for valine biosynthesis in bacteria, and is composed of a tetrameric assembly of two catalytic and two small regulatory subunits. The structure of a dimer of the AHAS small regulatory subunit from Nitrosomonas europea is shown. The zoomed area shows a detailed view of the loop involved in Ca2+ binding.
