The VIII European Symposium of The Protein Society will be held in Zurich, Switzerland, June 14-18, 2009. The symposium will feature an exceptional scientific program and opportunities to interact with leading scientists from all over the world in a stimulating environment and pleasant surroundings.

The scientific program will include about 50 invited speakers, and additionally, a number of talks will be selected from the abstracts submitted. So please, be sure to submit an abstract on your exciting research on time! There will be several poster sessions to provide opportunity to interact with your colleagues.

A special session will be the presentation of the Carl Brändén Award, given to an outstanding protein scientist who has also made exceptional contributions in the areas of education and/or service to science, as well as the Dorothy Crowfoot Hodgkin Award, granted in recognition of exceptional contributions in protein science that profoundly influence our understanding of biology.

The program will have exciting sessions addressing topics in protein folding, proteins in non-native states, membrane proteins, motor proteins, protein splicing, protein design and evolution, enzyme dynamics, endo- and exocytoprotein transport and degradation, proteins interacting with DNA and RNA, proteomics networks and system biology, and many other topics.
